How to use the computers

To use a computer, you should follow the steps described below:
  1. Switch the PC on (if it is already switched on, press the reset button, otherwise you will use the software used by the previous user that may contain viruses, Trojans, etc.).
  2. Type in your username, which is your name and first surname separated by a dot. For example, the username of a student called Joan Vallbona Martínez will be joan.vallbona.
Note for students: If you have a very common name and it is likely that one or more other students will share your username, or if you encounter any problems in finding out your username, go to the section “Username Enquiries” on the Atenea website at http://atenea.upc.edu.
  1. Type in your password.
Note for students: Your password is an eight-digit number. The first two numbers are your day of birth, the next two the month, the next two the year, and the last two are the last two numbers of your ID card or passport number. For example, the password of a student whose ID card number is 47654321 and who was born on 04/08/1983, will be 04088321. Students should remember this number as they will be asked for it whenever they enter any systems (PC network, e-mail, Atenea) for the first time.

If you do not know or forget your username and/or password, you can contact the FOOT’s IT Service or the UPC IT Service (ATIC) by phone (934 016 213) or e-mail at atic(@)upcnet.es.
