Essential information for carrying out clinical practices with minor patients
The Organic Law 1/1996, of January 15, on the Legal Protection of Minors, in section 5 of article 13, introduced by the Law 26/2015, of July 28, modifying the system for the Protection of Childhood and Adolescence, establishes the following:
«5. It will be a requirement for access to and exercise of professions, trades, and activities that involve regular contact with minors, not to have been convicted by a final judgment for any crime against sexual freedom and indemnity, which includes sexual assault and abuse, sexual harassment, exhibitionism and sexual provocation, prostitution and sexual exploitation, and corruption of minors, as well as human trafficking. For this purpose, anyone seeking access to such professions, trades, or activities must certify this circumstance by providing a negative certification from the Central Registry of Sexual Offenders.
Without this certification, you will not be able to carry out the clinical practices of the subjects that involve contact with patients.
- GOO Subjects: OCC, Dispensing and Assembly of Glasses I and II, Clinical Contactology I and II, Clinical Optometry I and II, PAE'S, or any elective with clinical practices
- All MUOCV subjects.
- TFG/TFM involving contact with minors
The Agreement no. 148/2016 of the Governing Council, which approves the agreement regarding the certificate of sexual offenses, establishes:
III.- However, in all those cases where, due to the specialties of their activity (such as Summer Campus, university extension, or other activities aimed at minors, as well as in the case of students, PAS, or PDI who, in the exercise of their functions, carry out stays or practices in centers or entities where there are minors), the affected personnel must provide the UPC with the appropriate negative certification from the Central Registry of Sexual Offenders. The presentation of thecertificate must be renewed annually while the activities last, and any change in its content must be immediately communicated to the UPC.

REMEMBER: if we do not have the authorization or the corresponding certificate before the start of the clinical practices, you will not be able to carry them out.
NOTE: this certificate is valid for one year, once it expires, a new one must be provided
