Bachelor's Degree in Optics and Optometry
The profession of optician-optometrist is a healthcare profession recognized by Law 44/2003, of 21 November, on the Regulation of Health Professions (BOE 22/11/2003).
The curriculum of the Bachelor’s Degree in Optics and Optometry is an official qualification adapted to the EHEA in the field of Health Sciences.
Obtaining the degree provides the necessary competencies to qualify for the practice of the profession of optician-optometrist, regulated by the Order CIN/727/2009, of 18 March, which establishes the requirements for the verification of official university degrees that qualify for the practice of the profession of Optician-Optometrist.
The programme consists of 240 ECTS credits (1 credit = 25 hours of student dedication, including attendance at classes, study, group work, assessment, etc.). Its composition is as follows:
- 66 ECTS of basic subjects.
- 132 ECTS of compulsory subjects
- 18 ECTS of external internships
- 18 ECTS of optional subjects.
- 6 ECTS of the Final Degree Project.
